Think little red riding hood does haute couture. This is the vibe I'm feeling from Zuhair Murad's new collection.
The first photo is little red riding hood does velvet - very sexy. Although velvet is typically the goth fabric (which might I say is in fashion again now YES I SAID IT).I love the goth trend it lets us all be a bit wild and dark and mysterious haha!
The second photo is red lace, the ultimate sexy combination. The skater skirt adds innocence to the dress which makes it acceptable, if it was a bodycon, it could be mistaken for a sex outfit :S awks...but I think it looks expensive (one of Zuhair's talents) and I want it!
The third is my favorite dress. Little red riding hood goes nude! It withholds two of my favourite factors on a dress: black sequins on flesh fabric and a fishtail. The flesh fabric and black sequins reminds me of those old photoshoots where women were nude and their lady bits were covered in diamonds. It's so classic and regal. Nudity is now regal, everybody hear that? hahaha not quite. Although the texture of the skirt is exotic and enticing. Love love love.
The third dress is such a beautiful shade of teal. It is so fairy tale, it reminds me of the dresses the women wear in the Emerald City in childhood favorite The Wizard Of Oz. Although revealing the bust seems tacky when one hears that idea, when you see the dress, it is classically figure hugging and not tacky. No breasts are on show. It teases more than treats. (That means it tantalizes with your imagination but doesn't actually show you anything.)
I'm sure they're all extremely expensive and none of us will ever own one! But one can still dream...

Miu Miu AW13 Collection
Miu Miu's gone preppy!
With happy colours I couldn't help but write about them because they're so pretty and happy and prep! So fresh after past year of gothic leather-filled winter collections.
The first photo reminds me of the rich men who have mahogany filled libraries and those burgundy velvet grand chairs. It exudes expensiveness and class. The golden crest is so regal, it's all very high class. And so very desirable. The only thing that's missing is some golden tassels!!
The third photo is such a preppy skirt It feels 60's because of the circle pattern and the colours. It reminds me of the kitchen set in the film with Susie Salmon? Can't remember the film right now. It feels cheap...but it somehow therefor feels expensive. Like now that style of kitchen would be outdated but then it was bang on trend - that's how I feel about the skirt. I hope it's shorty because otherwise, chubby legs here we come!
The third photo first of all reminds me of two things; porcelain dolls and sleeping beauty. Porcelain dolls because it's so perfect and clean. Like dolls' make up, the perfect pink pert lips and accentuated black eyes. The outline of the pattern in thin black shadow makes it to much more bold. Sleeping Beauty because of the pink, simply. And it's so graceful. OOH and the white makes me think of the porcelain dolls' skin. So yeah. That's y comparisons over.
Finally, the baby blue blouse paired with a detailed sequined collar. The captures the best parts of the two sets of seasons (AW/SS). The baby blue sky colour and the glitzy collar from a Marbella styled warmer seasons and the icy edge to the color from the colder seasons. It reminds me of preppy school teachers in those stereotypical American 40's films with the 'Hairspray' styled hair and heels a la mode.
I wish I had enough money to buy these but HEY whatever. Window shopping is always fun...right?
